The story arc which has driven this story and has motivated it for the past two years (i. e. since its beginning) is a story arc that is coming to a close (as in, almost undoubtedly no more than a year left). I'm inclined to put the comic on indefinite hiatus, if not downright closure, after that, but I thought I'd get some of your feedback before I did that. What do you think?

I haveve decided on indefinite hiatus. An announcement will be posted regarding the location of my new webcomic when I create it, which should be within a week of the posting of this message.
